Monmouth GOP Candidates Slam Gopal, Dems for Monmouth ‘Crime Spree’

COLTS NECK, N.J. — In a joint statement released today, Steve Dnistrian, Candidate for New Jersey State Senate, along with Assemblywomen Marilyn Piperno and Kim Eulner of New Jersey’s 11th Legislative District, sharply criticized the recent spike in criminal activities in Monmouth County. They laid blame on what they called “soft-on-crime policies” of Governor Phil Murphy, Attorney General Matt Platkin, and Senator Vin Gopal.

Steve Dnistrian stated, “For years, people have flocked to Monmouth County because there is no better place to work and raise a family. However, our citizens have been overwhelmed by a crime spree. In the past few days alone, Fair Haven and Freehold have seen multiple home invasions, and Eatontown and Long Branch small businesses have been robbed. It’s a disgrace.”

The Assemblywomen added their own concerns. “Enough is enough. Instead of dragging school boards and parents into court to sue them over common sense parental notification policies, Murphy, Platkin, and Gopal should be focused on fighting the true criminals in our own backyard,” said Piperno and Eulner.

The trio then unveiled a 5-point plan aimed at countering what they termed as the “misguided and dangerous priorities” of the current administration. The plan calls for stiffer penalties for repeat offenders linked to criminal enterprises, mandatory hold policies for repeat offenders, increased funding for law enforcement technology, mandatory education programs for juvenile offenders and their parents, and close collaboration with federal authorities to combat organized auto theft.

The 11th Legislative District, a battleground in the upcoming November elections, includes Allenhurst, Asbury Park, Bradley Beach, Colts Neck, Deal, Eatontown, Fair Haven, Freehold Borough and Township, Interlaken, Loch Arbour, Long Branch, Neptune City and Township, Ocean, Red Bank, Shrewsbury Borough and Township, and Tinton Falls.
