Montclair police investigating defamatory flyers targeting officer

MONTCLAIR, N.J. — The Montclair Police Department is investigating an incident involving flyers posted around the township that depict a uniformed Montclair Police officer alongside disparaging and disrespectful remarks.

The flyers, which show the officer’s face, are being traced as part of an active investigation. According to a preliminary investigation, the officer is not believed to have engaged in any improper conduct and appears to be the victim of a disgruntled individual involved in a traffic enforcement matter with the department.

The Montclair Police Department emphasized its commitment to professionalism, respect, and integrity, and is taking the incident seriously.
