Montgomery County police seek help locating missing 73-year-old Silver Spring man

Montgomery County Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 73-year-old Maurice Whiting, who was reported missing after last being seen on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at approximately 2:00 p.m.

Whiting was last spotted near the 8000 block of Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring. He is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.

At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a gray hoodie, black pants, and black Nike shoes. Authorities have not released any additional information about the circumstances of his disappearance.

Anyone with information about Whiting’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Montgomery County Police non-emergency line at (301) 279-8000, which operates 24 hours a day.

Police continue their search and are requesting public assistance in locating the missing Silver Spring resident.
