More than 2000 without power in Toms River after weekend snowstorm

TOMS RIVER, NJ – Thousands of residents in Toms River are without electricity Monday morning after FirstEnergy issued a power outage alert affecting multiple neighborhoods across the township.

Key Points

  • Outage alert issued at 10:52 a.m. Monday by FirstEnergy.
  • More than 2,100 customers affected in several Toms River neighborhoods.
  • Service restoration expected by 11:30 p.m. tonight.

Outages impact several Toms River neighborhoods

According to data from PowerOutage.us, the outage is impacting approximately 2,131 customers in areas including Cranmoor, Ridgewood, and Dover Meadows. The utility reported the cause of the outage remains under investigation, with crews dispatched to assess damage and begin repairs.

The alert follows a weekend winter storm that dropped more than two feet of snow across Toms River and much of Ocean County, leading to widespread service interruptions, fallen trees, and hazardous road conditions.

Restoration expected late Monday night

FirstEnergy estimates power will be restored by approximately 11:30 p.m. Monday, though that timeline may change as crews evaluate the extent of the damage. Officials are urging residents to stay clear of downed wires and report new outages or hazards immediately.

Residents can monitor outage updates and estimated restoration times at firstenergycorp.com or through PowerOutage.us.
