Morning Shooting at Fort Fisher Historic Park Leads to Arrest

FORT FISHER, NC — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has apprehended Adrian Maurice Hall Jr., following a fatal shooting at Fort Fisher Historic Park.

The incident, which occurred in the parking lot of the historic site, resulted in the death of Christopher Fenti and left another individual critically injured.

Detectives arrested Hall on multiple charges, including first-degree murder, after he allegedly approached Fenti in his vehicle and fired multiple rounds. Fenti was struck numerous times, and a stray bullet also hit another individual in the head. The second victim was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center and remains in critical condition.

The incident, which took place around 8:30 a.m., according to Lieutenant Jerry Brewer, was reported by various witnesses through several 911 calls. The exact timing of the 911 calls is yet to be confirmed. Hall is also charged with first-degree attempted murder and two counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied property.

He is currently being held without bond at the county detention center. The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office asked anyone with additional information to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
