Motor Vehicle Theft Reported in Wilkes-Barre, Suspect Charged

WILKES-BARRE, PA – A motor vehicle theft was reported on East Main Street in Wilkes-Barre, leading to charges against a 45-year-old man from Duryea, PA. The incident occurred on June 20 at 6:23 AM.

According to the victim, a 38-year-old male from Plains, PA, he had left his 2007 brown Jeep Cherokee (PA license LRN-2084) running and unsecured outside a business when he briefly went inside. Upon returning, he discovered his vehicle missing. The Wilkes-Barre City Police responded to the scene following the victim’s report.

During their investigation, officers were able to identify Alan Weitz as the suspect involved in the theft. Charges have been filed against Weitz, and the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are seeking any further information related to this incident.
