Motorcycle Crash Results in Serious Injuries in Manchester Township

MANCHESTER TWP, NJ – On Monday, at approximately 4:43 p.m., Manchester Township Police Department responded to a motorcycle accident on State Highway 37 between Bone Hill Road and Commonwealth Boulevard.

The crash scene, located in the eastbound lanes, involved a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Thomas O’Brien, 27, of Lakehurst, NJ, the motorcycle’s lone rider, was found lying in the roadway, 46 feet from the motorcycle’s final resting place.

Despite wearing an approved helmet, O’Brien sustained severe injuries, notably a compound fracture to his left arm. Emergency services transported him to Community Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation suggests that O’Brien lost control of his motorcycle while traveling, leading to the accident. While the investigation continues, initial assessments point to unsafe speed given weather conditions and driver error as primary factors.
