MTA Worker Threatened with Weapon by Unknown Suspect

The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a man wanted in connection with a menacing incident at the “East Tremont – West Farms” subway station. The event took place within the jurisdiction of the 48 Precinct and Transit District 12 on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at approximately 11:08 p.m.

According to the NYPD, a 56-year-old male victim, who is an on-duty MTA Collection Agent, was standing on the mezzanine level of the subway station when an unknown male brandished a sharp object and approached him in a threatening manner. The individual then dropped the sharp object and fled towards the northbound platform of the station.

No injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for the NYPD provided a description of the suspect, stating, “We are in the process of ascertaining the identity and whereabouts of the individual involved. He fled towards the northbound platform immediately after dropping the sharp object.”
