Multiple People Stabbed in Fight in Downtown Utica Friday Afternoon

UTICA, NY – At least three people were reportedly stabbed during a fight in downtown Utica Friday afternoon.

According to police, at approximately 3:55 PM, units were dispatched to the 200 block of Genesee St regarding several people who had been stabbed.

“Upon arrival, they located a female victim who had a laceration to her face, and also were informed that a male had been brought to the hospital in a private vehicle for injuries sustained,” the Utica Police Department reported. “The officers learned that an altercation had taken place between several parties, and during the course of the dispute, a male whom they learned to be Julius Brown age 61 of Utica, had displayed a knife and assaulted three parties.”

Police were able to locate Brown, who was still is possession of the knife, and detain him without incident.
