MARLBORO TOWNSHIP, N.J. — Several major and secondary roads remain closed across Marlboro Township due to storm-related damage, with local authorities urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel as crews work to restore power and clear hazards.

As of Thursday evening, Route 79 is closed between Route 520 and Girard Street due to downed power lines. Additional closures and non-functioning traffic signals continue to impact travel across the township.

Traffic lights are currently out at the following intersections:

  • Route 79 and Wyncrest Road
  • Route 79 and School Road
  • Route 520 and Wyncrest Road
  • Route 520 and Gordons Corner Road

Updated road closures throughout the township

The Marlboro Township Police Department also reported the following updated closures:

  • Route 79 between Route 520 and School Road West
  • Amboy Road and Tennent Road
  • Route 520 between Crine Road and Emerald Drive
  • Robertsville Road between Palomino Way and Cross Ridge Circle
  • Pleasant Valley Road between Beaver Hill and Reids Hill Road

Residents are reminded not to bypass barricades, as secondary roads may be impassable due to debris, flooding, or electrical hazards.

Authorities continue to assess damage across the area and are asking drivers to remain off the roads while emergency repairs are underway.
