Multiple Thefts at Westfield Wheaton Shopping Center Under Investigation

SILVER SPRING, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police are investigating a series of thefts at the Westfield Wheaton Shopping Center.

The first incident occurred on Monday, April 3, at approximately 8:11 a.m., when an unidentified suspect broke into the Cellairis kiosk and stole property and cash.

On Tuesday, August 15, at around 8 p.m., the same suspect is believed to have stolen cash from the Toy World kiosk. The individual then approached Rico’s Ice Cream, jumped over the counter, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set, Black male, possibly in his early twenties, with short black hair. A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest.
