Multiple Vehicle Thefts Reported in Maplewood

Maplewood, NJ – Police officers were dispatched to a Union Avenue residence to investigate a reported motor vehicle theft. The incident occurred on November 3 and involved a 2021 Kia Sorento that was left overnight in a driveway with the keys inside. The owner reported the vehicle was stolen by an unknown suspect who fled in an unspecified direction.

On Tuesday, Maplewood Police also responded to another motor vehicle theft report on Newark Way. This incident involved a 2018 Kia Soul, which was parked in a lot before being stolen. The suspect’s identity and direction of escape remain unknown.

That same day, officers attended a similar report of a vehicle theft at a Hilton Avenue residence. Details of this incident have not been fully disclosed. The Maplewood Police Department continues to investigate these incidents.
