LAUREL, MD – Howard County Police are conducting investigations into two fatal incidents that occurred in Laurel, believed to be related to a domestic assault.

Officers responded to a domestic assault report in the 11200 block of Chaucers Ridge Court shortly after 7 p.m., where they discovered an adult female deceased at the scene.

Minutes following the domestic assault call, police were alerted to a single-vehicle collision involving a pedestrian on northbound Route 29 near Old Columbia Road. An adult male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

The vehicle’s driver was unharmed and cooperated with authorities on the scene.

Early investigations suggest that the male pedestrian had assaulted the female at their shared residence before fleeing on foot into the traffic lanes of Route 29, where he was struck by an unrelated vehicle.
