Myrtle Beach Teen Charged for Murder of Jakolbi Taylor

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The Myrtle Beach Police Department has announced charges against 18-year-old Gary Abraham of Aiken, South Carolina, following a violent incident on July 20.

Abraham is facing one count of murder, three counts of attempted murder, and one count of possession of a firearm in commission of a violent crime. The charges stem from an event that took place in the 1600 block of North Ocean Boulevard where Abraham shot and killed 16-year-old Jakolbi Taylor.

Abraham’s initial bond hearing is scheduled for today, July 28, at the Ted C. Collins Law Enforcement Center. The local police have acknowledged the cooperation of multiple law enforcement agencies in this case, including the Aiken Department of Public Safety, Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, Horry County Sheriff’s Office, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.
