PETERSBURG, VA – A shooting that occurred early Monday morning, at the Budget Inn on Jamestown Drive is being investigated by the Petersburg Bureau of Police.
Officers were dispatched to the scene at around 1:25 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound considered life-threatening. The victim was airlifted to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment.
As the investigation continues, the police bureau has requested the public to avoid the area.
The Petersburg Bureau of Police is also asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
