Mikie Sherrill to Donald Trump: “You’re Not Welcome in NJ”

NEW JERSEY—In a strange and pointed statement on social media, Mikie Sherrill clearly told Donald Trump: “You’re not welcome in NJ.”

Sherrill cited New Jersey’s commitment to democracy, strength in diversity, and stance on women’s healthcare autonomy as reasons for her statement. She concluded her message with a stark suggestion that Trump “go back to court.”

The Democratic congresswoman says she believes in freedom and democracy, diversity, inclusion, and acceptance, but that belief system does not apply to former President Trump.

“Donald Trump, you’re not welcome in NJ. Because in the Garden State, we believe in democracy, we know that diversity is our strength, & we let women make their own healthcare decisions. Do us all a favor and go back to court,” she said in an unhinged rant on social media today.

Sherril also falsely claimed President Trump overturned Roe vs. Wade, which was a Supreme Court decision in June of 2022, two years after Joe Biden became president.

“Apparently, he is welcome; look at the number of people welcoming him. Are you blind?” one X user responded.
