New Jersey Could Soon Require Signatures on Vape by Mail Products

TRENTON, NJ – In an effort to combat underage vaping in New Jersey, lawmakers are proposing an law that will require a signature for mail and carrier delivery of vape products.

New legislation has been introduced in New Jersey to regulate the delivery of electronic smoking devices and tobacco products. The law mandates that no electronic smoking device or tobacco product can be delivered to a residence without verifying the recipient’s age as 21 or older through a signature upon delivery.

Violators of this law will face the same civil and criminal penalties as those who sell or furnish tobacco products and electronic smoking devices to individuals under the age of 21. However, the restriction does not apply to employees of the United States Postal Service performing their official duties.
