Wall Township, NJ – A mandatory statewide travel restriction has been extended through Monday at noon as snow-covered highways and secondary roads remain hazardous across New Jersey.

The restriction began at 9 p.m. Sunday and will continue until 12 p.m. Monday. During that time, all non-exempt vehicles are prohibited from operating on state, county, municipal, and interstate roadways.

The New Jersey Turnpike is exempt from the restriction, though officials warned that conditions remain dangerous statewide.

Violators of the order may face penalties under state law.

Who is exempt from the order

The statewide travel restriction does not apply to emergency personnel, public works and snow removal crews, healthcare workers, utility personnel, or individuals involved in critical infrastructure operations. Residents seeking urgent medical care are also exempt.
