New Jersey Governor Celebrates Transgender Awareness Week with New State Website

NEW JERSEY — In celebration of Transgender Awareness Week, Governor Phil Murphy announced the launch of TransgenderNJ.gov, a comprehensive resource for transgender and non-binary residents of New Jersey.

The new website aims to provide crucial support and information, including legal name changes, gender-affirming healthcare, and mental health services.

Transgender Awareness Week, which precedes the Transgender Day of Remembrance on November 20th, is dedicated to raising awareness about transgender issues and honoring the memory of transgender individuals lost to anti-transgender violence. This observance reflects New Jersey’s commitment to being a safe haven for the transgender community.
