BURLINGTON, NJ – Steven Boutte, a 53-year-old resident of Burlington, was sentenced on Wednesday, January 24, to six to 12 years in a state correctional institution.

Boutte faced charges including criminal attempt to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, unlawful contact with a minor, and related offenses.

The conviction follows Boutte’s arrest after engaging in explicit conversations with an individual he believed to be a 13-year-old girl.

Despite being informed of her age, Boutte expressed intent to meet for a sexual encounter. The investigation, leading to his sentencing by Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey L. Finley, also involved Boutte arranging and attempting meetings in Bensalem Township.

Additionally, Boutte is required to undergo an assessment by the Sex Offender Assessment Board.
