New Jersey School Teacher Busted for Affair With 14-Year-Old Student

RARITAN BOROUGH, N.J. – The Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, in conjunction with the Raritan Borough Police Department, announced the arrest of Lydia Pinto, 38, of Newton, Pennsylvania.

Pinto, a former high school teacher, is charged with sexually assaulting a minor student in Raritan Borough.

The case came to light following an anonymous tip received on October 16.

An investigation revealed that Pinto engaged in a sexual relationship with the victim, starting when they were 14-15 years old and continuing through their senior year.

Pinto was arrested on November 8, in Franklin Township, New Jersey, and is facing multiple sexual assault charges. She is currently detained at the Somerset County Jail awaiting her detention hearing.
