New Jersey Senator Cory Booker tests positive for COVID-19, fully vaccinated and boosted

NEWARK, NJ – Former Newark Mayor and U.S. Senator Cory Booker is the latest elected official on Capitol Hill to contract the COVID-19 virus. This weekend, his colleague, Senator Elizabeth Warren announced she tested positive for the virus.

“I learned today that I tested positive for COVID-19 after first feeling symptoms on Saturday. My symptoms are relatively mild. I’m beyond grateful to have received two doses of vaccine and, more recently, a booster – I’m certain that without them I would be doing much worse,” Booker said.

Both Booker and Warren were fully vaccinated and boosted. Congressman Jason Crow also tested positive after returning from a trip to the Ukraine.

“I just returned from an official congressional delegation visit to Ukraine and tested positive for a breakthrough COVID infection. I’m thankful to be fully vaccinated and boosted and experiencing only mild symptoms (the vaccine is safe and effective),” Crow said.

Elizabeth Warren might not need to see the medicine man as her symptoms are also mild.

“I regularly test for COVID & while I tested negative earlier this week, today I tested positive with a breakthrough case. Thankfully, I am only experiencing mild symptoms & am grateful for the protection provided against serious illness that comes from being vaccinated & boosted,” Warren said.

Booker, who earned the nickname of “Sparticus” after declaring he had a “Sparticus moment” has been a Democrat firebrand on Capitol Hill.
