New Jersey State Fair Kicks Off Today

AUGUSTA, N.J. — The New Jersey State Fair – Sussex County Farm and Horse Show opens today, drawing visitors from across the state to the Sussex County Fairgrounds for nine days of rides, livestock, and agricultural showcases.

Running from August 1 through August 9, the fair features horse shows, farm animal exhibits, produce competitions, and live entertainment. Attendees can explore carnival rides, game booths, and dozens of food vendors spread across the fairgrounds at 37 Plains Road.

In addition to agricultural demonstrations and 4-H competitions, the fair’s daily schedule includes concerts, petting zoos, and motorsport events. Fairgoers of all ages can attend, with tickets priced at $12 for adults, $4 for children aged 6 to 12, and $8 for seniors 60 and older.

The fair has been a mainstay in Sussex County for generations, highlighting the region’s rural roots alongside a wide range of attractions. Parking is available onsite, and gates open daily for the duration of the event.
