New Jersey State Police Honor Legacy of Fallen Trooper Philip Lamonaco

NEW JERSEY – The New Jersey State Police, led by Colonel Patrick J. Callahan, gathered with family and friends to honor the life and legacy of Trooper II Philip Lamonaco, who was tragically killed in the line of duty 42 years ago.

The commemoration took place at Trooper Lamonaco’s memorial on Interstate 80 in Knowlton, N.J., the exact location where he was shot and killed during a motor vehicle stop on December 21, 1981.

This event reflects the enduring respect and remembrance for Trooper Lamonaco’s sacrifice. The State Police community, along with the Lamonaco family, continues to be supported by the thoughts and prayers of many.
