New York City Department of Corrections Employee Arrested for Drunk Driving

New York City – In the early hours of Saturday, June 24, 2023, an off-duty employee of the New York City Department of Corrections found himself on the wrong side of the law.

Barinton Lawes, a 36-year-old male and a member of the city’s corrections department, was arrested and charged by the authorities within the jurisdiction of the 68th Precinct.

Lawes is facing several charges related to his alleged impaired driving.

The charges filed against him include operating a motor vehicle with a blood alcohol content of .08 of 1%, driving while intoxicated, and driving while ability impaired by alcohol.
