ERIE COUNTY, NY – Gerald Steven Pigeon, known as Steve Pigeon, a 63-year-old resident of Niagara Falls, entered a guilty plea to a count of First-Degree Sexual Abuse, a class “D” violent felony, before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller on Monday.

The plea by the ex-political party chairman came in advance of a scheduled jury trial set for next month.

The incident, which occurred between November and December 2016, involved Pigeon subjecting a child under 11 years old to sexual contact within Erie County. The child was an acquaintance of Pigeon.

Upon sentencing, scheduled for December 22, Pigeon could receive up to 7 years in prison.

He remains released on his own recognizance, and a protective order for the victim is still in effect.
