New York State Trooper Dive Team Trains for River Operations

ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, NY – Last week, Members from our Underwater Recovery Team searched Raquette River in St. Lawrence County for evidence related to a criminal investigation. URT members from Troop B, D and G also search for evidence in the St. Regis River and Salmon River.

Our Underwater Recovery Team is the oldest and largest public safety dive team in the United States, operating since 1932. The team provides service for State Police cases as well as other law enforcement agencies at their request. The team performs an average 1,800 dives per year to recover victims, weapons, evidence, and even vehicles and aircraft from New York’s waters.
