New Yorker Charged with Mail Theft, Credit Card Fraud in Wall Township

WALL TOWNSHIP – Early morning police response to suspicious activity leads to credit card theft charges.

Responding to a report of a suspicious individual on Pippen Dr at 8:30 AM on March 19, officers encountered Eric Covington, a 41-year-old from New York, allegedly extracting mail from local mailboxes. Further investigation revealed Covington’s possession of stolen credit cards and other documents, leading to his arrest on charges including theft of credit cards, receiving stolen property, and theft of moveable property.

Covington was processed and released, with a court date set for the future. Ptl. Kevin Wagner, with assistance from Detectives Honecker and Corso, made the arrest.
