Newark Man Arrested for January Shooting in New York

NEW YORK, NY – Javaughn Horton, a 28-year-old male has been arrested on charges of attempted murder in connection with a shooting incident that occurred on January 30.

According to police reports, the incident occurred at approximately 10:40 p.m. An unidentified individual approached a 36-year-old male victim and beckoned him over.

The individual proceeded to discharge a firearm multiple times, hitting the victim in both legs. The assailant entered a black Chevrolet sedan and fled the scene, traveling eastbound on East 233 Street.

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was reported to be in stable condition after the shooting.
