Newark Police Request Public Assistance in Identifying Burglary Suspects

NEWARK, NJ — The Newark Public Safety Department is seeking public assistance in identifying two male suspects involved in a business burglary on Sunday, April 14, 2024. Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé has released details of the incident and descriptions of the suspects involved.

The burglary occurred around 3:50 a.m. at a business located in the 100 block of Bloomfield Avenue. The suspects gained entry by climbing onto the roof and entering through a second-floor window. Once inside, they accessed the cash register, stealing $1,555.91. They then broke into an adjacent business through a sheetrock wall, where they emptied another cash register of $400.

The first suspect is described as having a light complexion and medium build, wearing dark-colored clothing, white sneakers, a baseball cap, and a face covering. The second suspect is approximately 5’9” tall, with a light complexion and little to no facial hair, wearing a dark-colored Chicago Bulls cap with a gold logo and Adidas sweatpants.

Detectives are urging anyone with information about the suspects to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
