Newark Police Request Public’s Help to Identify Theft Suspects

NEWARK, NJ – The Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying suspects involved in a theft incident that occurred on May 22, 2023. The suspects were captured on surveillance video while removing an electric scooter from the 100 block of Ferry Street at around 5:06 PM.

The victim’s Gotrex Electrical Scooter was secured with a cable lock before the suspects cut it and fled west on Ferry Street. The director encourages anyone with information regarding the suspects to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
