Newark Police Searching for Gunfire Suspect

NEWARK, NJ – the Newark police department is searching for a man who discharged a gun near Hayes Street and Springfield Avenue at around 1:52 a.m. on Saturday.

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help in identifying the below-pictured male in connection with the discharge of a firearm on Saturday, June 25, 2022.

“At approximately 1:52 a.m., Police responded Hayes Street near Springfield Avenue on a call of shots fired. Responding officers recovered four spent shell casings at the location,” Frage said.

No injuries have been reported.

Detectives investigating this incident seek the public’s help in identifying the below-depicted male as part of their investigation.

According to police investigating the incident, no suspects or motives have been announced at this time. No arrests have been made.
