Newark Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Shooting Suspects

Newark, NJ – Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé has requested public assistance in identifying suspects involved in a shooting incident that took place this past Saturday.

At around 8:51 p.m. on Saturday, Newark Police responded to a report of gunfire on Dickerson Street near Hecker Street. Upon arrival, officers found no victims but discovered that both a parked vehicle and a residential building had been struck by bullets.

The investigation revealed that two individuals on a scooter headed southbound on Hecker Street engaged in an argument with others in the area. The passenger on the scooter dismounted, drew a firearm from his waistband, and began firing shots at the individuals.
