Newark police seek public’s help identifying package theft suspect

NEWARK, NJ — Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a male suspect connected to the theft of a package valued at $1,500 from a residence on Vassar Avenue, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda, Sr. announced.

The theft occurred between Wednesday, November 27, 2024, and Thursday, November 28, 2024. According to police, the package containing security equipment was delivered to the victim’s home at approximately 10:45 a.m. on November 27. When the victim returned the next morning at 9 a.m., the package was missing.

Detectives investigating the incident have obtained a photo of the suspect and are seeking the public’s help in identifying him.

Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to contact the Newark Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Tips can remain anonymous, and confidential submissions may be eligible for a reward.
