Newark Police Seek Suspect Who Pointed Gun at 7-Eleven Worker

NEWARK, NJ — The Newark Department of Public Safety is requesting public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an aggravated assault incident.

Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé made the appeal following an event that took place on Saturday, November 18, 2023.

The incident occurred around midnight at a 7-Eleven store located in the 700 block of Broad Street. Police were called to the scene after reports of a man pointing a firearm at an employee during a verbal altercation.

The suspect, identified as a Black male, was seen wearing a gray sweater and black jeans. Director Fragé is urging anyone with information about the suspect’s identity to contact the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477
