Authorities say a woman dressed in black was caught on surveillance stealing a package from a Carolina Avenue porch Tuesday morning.
Newark, NJ – A package thief captured on home surveillance video is now the focus of a Newark police investigation after a delivery containing clothing was stolen from a residential porch Tuesday morning.
The theft happened at approximately 10:45 a.m. along Carolina Avenue near Laurel Place, where a package had been delivered to a home. According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, the suspect approached the residence, removed the parcel from the porch, and fled northbound along Carolina Avenue.

Investigators say the victim later reported the theft and provided surveillance footage that clearly shows the suspect taking the package before leaving the area.
The stolen delivery contained several clothing items, including three pairs of leggings, four tops, two sweatshirts, and one t-shirt.
Police described the suspect as a female wearing all black clothing at the time of the incident.
