Las Vegas, NV – A newly elected member of the Las Vegas Realtors Board of Directors is facing backlash after a profanity-laced Facebook comment targeting conservative activist Charlie Kirk began circulating online.
Mark Sivek, a broker at Realty ONE Group and recent winner in the Las Vegas Realtors (LVR) Board of Directors election, drew attention for a post in which he wrote, “The world is a better place without him,” referring to Kirk. Sivek also accused the political commentator of promoting “hate and violence” and declared, “Live by the sword die by the sword.”
The exchange happened in a Facebook thread with another user, Kimberly Petersen, who condemned Sivek for celebrating anyone’s death. “Shame on you for celebrating the murder of anyone,” Petersen wrote. “Your rhetoric and hate for him (or anyone for that matter) is alarming.”
Sivek’s comments contrast sharply with his professional campaign messaging. Just days before the post surfaced, he promoted his candidacy for the LVR Board by pledging transparency, steady dues, protected data, and mentorship for success.
The Las Vegas Realtors Board, one of the largest trade associations in Nevada, has not yet issued a public statement addressing the controversy.
