No happy ending for jersey shore massage parlor madame

A Jersey Shore massage parlor operator is in trouble after police discovered illegal up-charged services that weren’t on the official price sheet.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, alongside Barnegat Township Police Chief Jason D. Carroll and Stafford Township Police Chief James Haldenwang, have announced the arrest of Kani Peng, a 53-year-old woman from Egg Harbor Township. Peng has been charged with multiple offenses including Promoting Prostitution, Engaging in Prostitution, Maintaining a Nuisance, and Financial Facilitation.

The arrest on June 19 follows a prolonged investigation spanning from October 2023 to June 2024, involving the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Economic Crime Squad and local police departments in Barnegat and Stafford Townships. The investigation focused on the Rainbow Spa in Barnegat Township and Bay Spa in Stafford Township, where illegal activities were suspected.

Investigators discovered that women residing at both locations were participating in sexual activities in exchange for money. Evidence indicated that Peng owned and managed these establishments, supplying them with essentials such as food, clothing, and cleaning supplies. On the day of her arrest, court-authorized search warrants were executed at both spas and Peng’s residence, confirming suspicions of ongoing prostitution.

Peng was apprehended at the Stafford Township spa and was issued charges via summons. She is scheduled for an initial appearance in Ocean County Superior Court.
