NORTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. — In response to recent reports of drone activity in New Jersey, the North Brunswick Police Department announced Saturday that it is working closely with federal and state law enforcement agencies to investigate the sightings.

Police Chief J. Battaglia reassured residents that there is no known threat linked to the drones at this time but emphasized the importance of public assistance in identifying their operators and purpose.

Residents are encouraged to report drone activity to the FBI tip line at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324) and, if safe, to capture video footage of the drones to assist in the investigation.

Chief Battaglia also noted that due to North Brunswick’s location along the flight path to Newark International Airport, many reported sightings may be misidentified airplanes rather than drones.
