North Carolina man arrested for assaulting officer at Woodbridge hospital

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A North Carolina man was arrested early Thursday morning after assaulting a law enforcement officer at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, police said.

The incident occurred on November 21 at approximately 3:42 a.m., when officers were present at the hospital on Opitz Boulevard in Woodbridge. According to police, Jesse Alan Kister, 42, of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina, approached an officer and assaulted them.

Additional officers quickly intervened, detaining Kister without further incident. No injuries were reported as a result of the assault.

Kister was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer and is being held without bond. A court date has been set for December 18, 2024.
