North Carolina Men Indicted for Animal and Child Endangerment

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY – Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney announced the indictment of Russell Brown, 67, and Jamar Belle, 28, both from North Carolina.

On September 1, around 7:10 pm, Suffolk County Police officers discovered 19 Pitbull puppies, a toddler, and two loaded firearms in the defendants’ 2022 Jeep Compass parked in Wyandanch.

The puppies, aged five to six weeks, were confined in two containers, covered in excrement.

All are now available for adoption.

The two-year-old child found in the vehicle was placed under protective care by Child Protective Services.
