North Olmsted Cop and Suspect Injured in Shooting Outside Burning Home

NORTH OLMSTED, OH — Saturday morning’s gunfire exchange between police and a suspect in North Olmsted resulted in injuries to a police officer and a 27-year-old male suspect.

The North Olmsted Police Department received a distress call at approximately 1:39 a.m., leading them to 28456 Alden Drive, where the confrontation ensued.

The police officer, with the department since August 17, 2021, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was later discharged from St. John Westshore Hospital.

The condition of the suspect, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds, is currently not disclosed.

During the incident, a residence was also found ablaze, prompting response from various fire departments. An individual believed to be related to the initial report was located and hospitalized with undetermined injuries.
