North Plainfield Police to Crack Down on Loud Mufflers After Spike in Complaints

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ – The North Plainfield Police Department has announced increased enforcement against loud mufflers in response to a surge of complaints from the community. Officers will be focusing on vehicles with defective or modified mufflers that create excessive noise.

The department stated that officers will be on the lookout for offenders while conducting routine traffic patrols. The aim is to address Citizen Traffic Complaints, which have specifically highlighted the issue of loud exhausts from motor vehicles.

Drivers found in violation due to defective or altered mufflers can expect to be stopped by police.
