Northwest D.C. Homicide Suspect Apprehended

Washington, D.C. – A 44-year-old woman has been arrested in relation to a homicide that took place on August 24th at the 3600 block of 16th Street in Northwest, D.C. Washington Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch made the announcement today.

Responding to gunshots at about 4:37 a.m., officers discovered an adult male victim, identified as 27-year-old Larry Thomas of Triangle, Virginia. Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene and later moved to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Emerita Garcia was located and arrested yesterday by the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. She is charged with First Degree Murder While Armed.
