NYC bicyclist sprayed with unknown chemical by passing rider, robbed

NEW YORK, NY – The New York City Police Department is seeking public help to identify an individual involved in a robbery in Queens.

On Tuesday, at approximately 5:00 PM, an unknown male individual riding a bicycle approached a 31-year-old male victim who was also riding a bicycle at 37-06 98 Street.

The suspect demanded the victim’s bicycle and then discharged an unknown chemical substance in the victim’s face.

To further intimidate and harm the victim, the suspect struck the victim’s arm with his bicycle and forcibly took possession of the victim’s bicycle.

Following the robbery, the suspect fled westbound on 37 Avenue. The victim, who sustained minor injuries from the assault, was provided with medical attention by EMS on the scene.
