NYC Cop Busted for Drunk Driving in the Bronx

NEW YORK — An off-duty NYPD police officer was arrested Friday morning in the Bronx on charges of driving while intoxicated, according to police officials.

Sheikh Aktaruzzaman, 28, was taken into custody at approximately 8:32 a.m. within the confines of the 43rd Precinct. He faces charges of driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired.

Details regarding the circumstances of the arrest have not been released, and no injuries or collisions were reported.

The NYPD has not commented on Aktaruzzaman’s status with the department or any potential disciplinary actions, but the case remains under investigation.
