NYC Department of Education Employee Arrested for Luring, Attempted Kidnapping

QUEENS, NY – Yogeshwar Narine, 32, an employee of the New York City Department of Education, faces serious charges including child luring, attempted kidnapping, attempted unlawful imprisonment, and attempted endangering the welfare of a child.

The incident occurred on November 15, 2023, at around 8:20 AM. A 15-year-old girl was walking to school in Queens, near Francis Lewis Boulevard and 113th Road, when Narine, allegedly standing beside a black SUV, attempted to grab her and pull her into his vehicle. The girl managed to break free and flee the scene. Narine then left in the SUV, with his current whereabouts unknown.

The NYPD is conducting a thorough investigation and urges anyone with information to come forward. This incident highlights the importance of public awareness and vigilance in community safety.
