The arrest happened around 12:55 a.m. within the 34th Precinct, which covers the northern end of Manhattan. Authorities identified the suspect as Jason Koutsoftas, 55, an on-duty employee of the New York City Department of Sanitation.
Koutsoftas was charged with assault, according to police. No further details about the alleged incident or circumstances leading to the charge were immediately released.
