Brooklyn, NY – An off-duty New York City police officer was arrested Wednesday afternoon after being caught driving under the influence in Bay Ridge, authorities said.
Elias Fernandez, 27, was taken into custody around 1:56 p.m. within the confines of the 68th Precinct, which covers the Bay Ridge and Dyker Heights neighborhoods, according to officials.
Fernandez, who serves as an NYPD officer, faces multiple charges including operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, driving while intoxicated, and driving while ability impaired by alcohol.
