NYPD Investigating Assault at 14th Street-Union Square Subway Station

NEW YORK CITY, NY — A 22-year-old female victim reported an assault and robbery at the 14th Street-Union Square subway station on Friday, December 8, 2023, at around 1:33 a.m. The incident occurred near the turnstile area of the station.

The victim was approached by an unidentified female who grabbed her hand and forcibly took her cellphone. As the victim attempted to retrieve her phone from the ground, a physical altercation ensued. The assailant then snatched the victim’s glasses before fleeing the scene on foot.

The suspect is described as a female with a light complexion, estimated to be between 20 to 30 years old.

The New York City Police Department is investigating this incident and is seeking information regarding the identity and whereabouts of the suspect.
